My name is Patricia and I’m part of Swindon Community Church.
In August 2008 I had a fall which left me with a shattered tibia and fibula in my left leg. I was fitted with a titanium pin, but this failed to work. After six months the bones in my leg where still loose and I was in a lot of pain. I was referred to a bone specialist who operated, took out the pin, re-broke and aligned both bones and fitted a metal cage, known as a Llizarov Fixator. I had fourteen pins going through my leg; bolts on each pin had to be turned with a spanner four times a day to lengthen it by six centimetres. My leg eventually got to the right length but problems of pin infection endangered the healing process. I had stays in hospital, countless visits to my consultant and physiotherapy sessions. The whole process left me completely exhausted.
On the 13th November 2009, sixteen months after the accident my consultant advised me that the outcome for the leg was not looking good as the bones did not seem to be setting. On Saturday 14th November I attended the Che Ahn conference. When the call came for people in need of healing to stand up I responded. I was approached by a man called Aaron who told me that he had been instructed by God to come and pray for me and he asked me if I was ready to accept God’s healing. I replied that I was, so he prayed for me, together with Cedric Hobbs and some others.
A warm feeling started to envelope me like a blanket. I started to shake uncontrollably and my leg seemed to be transfixed to the ground getting straightened and strengthened. I just kept crying out to the Lord. My walking sticks were taken away and I started to walk - it felt as though I was walking on water - there was a cool breeze on my leg and the pain disappeared. The leg had always been hot to touch and now it was cool. I was shrieking with joy! A few days later I found that feeling had returned to my ankle, before this I had no feeling in that part of my leg.
On the 4th December the cage was removed to test out the leg. It is fine. Praise God! The staff at the hospital were thrilled and amazed. I now have a light plaster on the leg and thereafter will have a removable boot for a period. I am looking forward to doing hydrotherapy and re-learning to walk. Our God is good.
I am so humbled by this miracle which is a result of God’s love, goodness and mercy.
Praise be to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
