WELCOME to our website - we trust this gives you the information you are looking for but should you need more detail please contact Ed and Kate Evans, Community leaders.

We are a lively family church who believe that people are important and that Jesus can help us in our daily situations. We seek to involve everyone in the life of the church and encourage each other to use and develop the different gifts that God has given us.

Abingdon Community Church is part of Oxfordshire Community Churches (OCC), a group of fifteen churches meeting around the county with a vision to see our region transformed by Jesus.  Our shared resources make us stronger together as we seek to build an apostolic church. Either click on the links or look at the headings at the top of this page to find out more about OCC and all they are involved in.

We are also members of the Church in Abingdon and OCC is part of the Salt and Light family and the Evangelical Alliance.

On Sundays...

ACC Sunday Worship

Please come and join us at Thameside School, Cotman Close, Abingdon.

(directions)

Here we have a very informal style of worship plus Bible teaching.  We run a creche and various groups for our children and young people (see their page).

It would be lovely to see you on a Sunday morning. If you are not used to coming to church and feel a bit nervous about walking in on your own or need help with transport, please contact us - we'll be glad to help and make things easier for you.

Please note - We sometimes meet up with the other churches that make up Oxfordshire Community Churches for a celebration in Oxford instead of meeting in Abingdon. See diary page for details.

During the week...

Midweek we have several smaller groups meeting in peoples homes for fellowship and Bible study. Please click here for details of the mid week meetings.

We often run Alpha courses for anyone interested in finding out more about the Christian faith. These take place over ten weeks in a small friendly group setting which includes supper, a short talk and then discussion.

For more details contact Ed and Kate Evans. (see contact page)

Children and Youth...ACC Fusion

Children are very welcome in our Sunday meetings. We have a crèche for 'pre-schoolers' and activities for primary age children called "KFC" (Kids for Christ - as chosen by the children themselves!) except during family services.  These activities are run by trained workers.

For this term's programme, click here and for more information contact Clara Wray (01235-206058).

We run a youth cell for Y9-Y12 that meets during the meeting on alternate Sunday mornings. We also have a youth cell for school years 7 to 10 that meets on Sunday afternoons. Contact Patrick & Viki Gale (01235-831286) for more details.  In addition, we are involved in youth events and activities with the other churches in Abingdon (in the DESIRE network) and with the other churches in OCC (click here).

For those of you looking at the whole area of education for your children, you might want to read more about The King's School, a Christian co-educational independant school established by OCC and only a few miles away in the Oxfordshire town of Witney. Click here for details.

Other Activities...

ACC Market StallEvery other Monday morning, for several years, we have run a stall on the town market offering free tea and coffee plus a friendly chat!  Unfortunately we have had to take a break from this at the moment, but hope to start again soon!

Contact Sandra Pike (01235-534102) to find out more.

And Further Afield...

We have been privileged to send people from the church on short term mission trips abroad. In recent years people have been involved in visits to Uganda, Zambia, Poland South Africa and India.

We believe that God has a heart for all people. Where we can help in some small way we want to be willing to go to the ends of the earth.

These trips have been to take humanitarian aid as well as seeking to minister the Kingdom of God.

We also support Gina Charsley on a longer term basis - for information see her page - and we are actively involved with Debbie Newman and her work in Kamuli, Uganda with her charity Helping Hands.
