Martyn Sene from Peachcroft Christian Centre joined us as part of the Church in Abingdon pulpit exchange and continued our series on Jesus, look at Matthew 13.
Jesus always spoke using parables. These stories are memorable and have greater impact in communicating key truths. Some people will understand and respond but others will not.
Martyn focussed on the parables of the hidden treasure and the pearl of great price and talked about the 'ache' people have because they know something is missing - a relationship with our creator - and how the greatest treasure is to find that something and take away 'the fear' (as it is termed in the Lily Allen song!).
Martyn's powerpoint is uploaded without the audio tracks he used to reduce file size and avoid copyright complications! The song clips he used can be heard in the main audio file, albeit at low quality so that they cannot be duplicated!
