Where do church activities fit

Ed talked about the need for both individual witness and working together as a church in reaching out to people in Abingdon with the good news.  Evangelism is often a process and we are called to be one body, working toegther, so each of us has a part to play.  One sows, another water but it is only God who brings growth!  Church events help bridge some of the gaps between us and people in Abingdon e.g. cafe church acting as an easier way to make new contacts and friendships with people living near Thameside.  They also help us with the things we find difficult in our own witness, e.g. if we get tingue-tied explaining the hope we have in Christ, we can bring people along to things like Alpha.   He finished with a challenge as to how we can each get involved in these activities in order to help and support one another in our mission.
