Children & Youth
Creche (0-5 years old) Babies, toddlers and pre-school children are all welcome in our creche. We have a core team of adults and young people who will help in our creche each week (except family services). For the older children we sing together, listen to Bible stories and do lots of different craft activities. For the younger babies we have a good selection of toys and they and their parents are very welcome to join us. For more information please contact Sue Graham. KFC (kids for Christ) On Sunday mornings our 5-12 year olds meet in KFC. At the moment we are using the LIGHT material produced by Scripture Union. Typical weeks include some of the following: Bible stories, praying for each other and those around us, listening to God and spending time praising and worshipping Him, silly games, some for fun, some with a hidden meaning and drama. We also have special sessions with a particular theme. Some of these have included in the past designing t-shirts, making clay pots and prayer walking. For more information please contact Clara Wray. Youth 'Encounters' This group is for Y9-Y12 and meets during the meeting on alternate Sunday mornings.Here are the next few Sundays we plan to meet.

We will have a short break over the summer but will resume meeting again in September.
Young people in year 9 and above are encouraged to integrate with the whole church on a Sunday on the weeks when their cell is not meeting - maybe getting involved in worship, technical or children's ministry as well as worshipping, hearing from God and exercising the gifts God gives you.
'The Upper Room' We also run a youth cell, 'The Upper Room', for school years 7-9 meeting on alternate Sunday evenings (4-6.00pm). The dates of the next few meetings are as follows: Sunday 11th May Sunday 25th May Sunday 8th June Sunday 22nd June Sunday 6th July We will have a short break from meeting over the summer but meetings will start up again in September. Watch this space for exciting news about a youth Alpha course being planned!

All young people from Y7 upwards are also encouraged to join in with Abingdon-wide and OCC events.
Next OCC youth event Sunday 20th July, 7.30 - 9.30 - 'Battle of the Bands'
"DESIRE" is a network linking together the youth activities of churches in Abingdon and the surrounding area - it runs regular worship evenings and big events roughly 3 times a year. OCC youth activities bring together young people from all 15 churches in OCC for worship, fun & outreach.
