Looking Outwards

We are continually seeking fresh and innovative ways of serving and blessing those around us, to impact and influence Oxfordshire for Jesus.

Kindness and service

It is the love and kindness of God that draws people to him. We can all demonstrate this love to others in many ways: individually with our friends and neighbours, by giving people simple gifts with a simple message of God’s love, or by helping with local community activities. Many of us are involved with lunch clubs, parenting courses, youth clubs, community surveys, toddler groups, and prison visiting.

Cell groups

A fundamental part of our church life is groups of people that meet together midweek, variously called cells or community groups. These are growing communities of people, not “just another meeting”. They have a solid commitment to pray for people who don’t know Jesus yet, support one another in reaching out to friends and neighbours, and develop community projects as a means of expressing God’s love and kindness to those around them.

Alpha

Alpha, the fast-growing course from Holy Trinity Brompton Anglican Church, which introduces people to the Christian faith, continues gathering more and more people in Oxfordshire. By the year 2002, 1 in 50 people in our country have attended an Alpha course.

The ‘Year Team’ and ‘Joshuas’

Most years we have a team of young people who give a year of their life to serve God in a variety of ways. The ‘YTeam’ has been involved in schools’ work, lunch clubs, student work, evangelistic surveys, study weeks and running soup kitchens. Joshuas give a year or two to be trained and mentored alongside some of our pastors and leaders. Does God want you to give a year of your life for service and training?

Schools Work

Our youth work in schools has developed in leaps and bounds, into the secondary schools around Oxfordshire. In many schools we now have an ‘open door’ to do as many assemblies and RS lessons as we can cope with! This is a significant way which we can sow God’s values into the future of Oxfordshire, as well as resourcing teachers in state schools.

Pregnancy Crisis Centre

As part of the national CARE for Life network,we offer help and support to women with unplanned pregnancies. The PCC centre is based in Witney but has a wider influence across the County through the schools’work.

Church planting

The church is God’s family, his chosen way of demonstrating his love for people! We are committed to planting churches, and, at any one time, a number of church plants are being planned or started.
