So, we believe God wants us to work together, be family together and to learn together.
What does it mean in practice?
Prayer
Praying is fundamental to a Christian’s life. Praying together helps us keep going. It gives us God’s perspective on life. It enables God’s work to be done. It’s vital! Corporate prayer happens across our churches in a variety of formats, but we also meet weekly to pray across OCC, and are a developing a drop-in prayer room in The King’s Centre.
Training
We benefit most from the strengths of the different leaders in OCC by working together in training leaders and people including: prophetic, pastoral and teaching workshops; the ‘Year Team’, training young people to serve God;training of Pregnancy Crisis counsellors and Schools Workers; ongoing area leadership training; Marriage enrichment and preparation courses; production of resources for use locally and further afield.
Guest Services
Across our churches we put on guest services, meetings tailored to the needs and expectations of those who are not familiar with church. Regular Area guest events also attract major guest speakers.
