About Us

Who Are We?

Bicester Community Church (BCC) is one of a group of twelve churches working together as Oxfordshire Community Churches (OCC). We are an evangelical, charismatic church that began meeting in Bicester in October 1991 after a small group of us moved out from Oxford. Although we started with just 14 adults, plus their children, God has added to our number. Some have joined us after finding a personal faith in Jesus, others have become involved through personal contact, while still others have joined us after moving into the area. Whatever their starting point, all those who form the church family that we are today are here because they are seeking or have already found a personal relationship with God the Father through his son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Bicester Churches Together

We also work closely with most other churches in Bicester, including the Elim Lighthouse Fellowship, Bicester Methodist Church (youth page here), Bicester Salvation Army, Highway Christian Church, Emmanuel Church, Orchard Baptist Fellowship, St Edburg's Anglican Church and the Roman Catholic Church. Leaders of all these churches meet together weekly for prayer and fellowship and there is close co-operation amongst the youth leaders, with many combined youth activities.

Part of Something Bigger Still

We believe that being a part of something bigger is very important. Therefore we are not only a part of OCC, but also a wider family of churches called Salt & Light Ministries. Salt and Light Ministries grew up around the leadership of Barney Coombs as an international family of leaders and churches who have been drawn together by a common desire to see the Body of Christ grow to be all God wants it to be.
