Who are we?

The King's Church, Didcot is a community of people that live in Didcot and surrounding villages. We are a Christian church who work closely with the other churches in the area. We are an informal, lively group from 0 to the mid-70s in age. We have a good mix of nationalities including British, German, Dutch, Indian, South African, Australian and a New Zealander – we would love to see more! We started meeting in October 1998 as a house group and went along to Abingdon Community Churches Sunday meeting. We started meeting on Sundays in Didcot in September 1999. Since then we have had three moves and are now in our fourth venue as the church has grown.

Statement of faith

We are part of Oxfordshire Community Churches who work together in the county to express our Christian faith in ordinary day-to-day living. We see ourselves as a small part of the world wide church of Jesus Christ and are members of the Evangelical Alliance. We believe that the Bible is God's Word and that God has given the Holy Spirit to help us live out the teachings of Jesus. The gospel is an invitation to a life-long encounter with God! We are committed to:

          • having a personal relationship with God the Father through Jesus

          • caring and committed relationships with one another

          • experiencing wholehearted worship of God

          • seeing God's Holy Spirit bring wholeness in every area of our lives

          • making a positive difference!
