Spring is here!

Spring is finally here! It feels like that bit in the chronicles of Narnia when finally the spell is broken, winter is over and spring has begun.It has been a long cold winter, but now the birds are singing and nesting, the flowers are blossoming and new life is beginning once again.

But what about spiritually? How are things there? It does feel like spring is on it's way and yet it seems that we are not fully seeing the power of winter broken and new life beginning. There are areas where we're not seeing breakthrough, where we seem to be taking two steps forward and one back (or even the other way round sometimes). Our prayers in one area are answered but then the battle intensifies in another area.

I can really relate to these verses from Habakkuk at the moment:

Though the fig tree does not bud

and there are no grapes on the vine

though the olive crop fail

and the fields produce no food,

 though there are no sheep in the pen

and no cattle in the stalls.

The Sovereign Lord is my strength;

he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,

he enables me to go on the heights.

We are looking to see breakthrough in healings, in miracles and in salvation. We are waiting to see the fruit follow the blossom and in it all and despite it all we will rejoice in Jesus. That is where our hope lies - We can see that God answers prayer, that he is faithful and he provides. I will celebrate the goodness of God and the faithfulness of God. I'll also be seeking his face for answers and for wisdom - but all the time holding onto God is good - all the time.

and remembering - it's not about waiting for the storm to pass- but learning to dance in the rain!
