Lent Course Week 5 - Mark 16:1-8 He goes before us

The fifth and final talk in the 2016 CiA Lent series with Dave Perry - "When Suffering is Glory: Mark 14-16"

This week, Dave talks about the resurrection and how Mark highlights its significance... There are echoes of Genesis 1, showing that this is a new beginning not just for the man Jesus, but for all mankind and even the whole cosmos. The news is to be told to the disciples, but especially Peter - why? Because he is the one who failed most spectacularly and it's important we know there are no 'write-offs' in God's kingdom. The angel tells them to go back to Galilee - and that Jesus will go ahead of them: whatever WE face ahead, Jesus is alive and goes before us!
