On the journey ...

It's been just over two years now since we started our venue journey. We left the Cviic Hall (as it was then)) and have been meeting in a number of places since. After a year of meeting in different places from week to week, we have been blessed with a year at Stockham Primary School. I'm loving meeting there. Yet, we know that when we set out on this journey, it was for a purpose and it had a destination; and much as I love meeting at the school I'm very aware that it's a bit small, and it is hard to make it a 'home' on a daily basis for the church.

When God called Abraham's father, Terah, the family got to a place on the journey, decided it was good enough, and stayed there. When God called the Israelites out of Egypt and on to the promised land, some of hte trbies found some good land along the way and chose to settle there. But the fulness of God's promise wasn't in those places: they were meant to be stepping stones. It's fun to stand on a stepping stone for a while, but it's better to get to the other side!

So I find myself provoked to keep on praying and keep on pushing doors to see what next step God has for us towards a long term, spacious, home for us to grow into. I'm loving the journey, but I'm looking forwards to the destination. Let's keep praying, and let's enjoy where God leads us next!
