We spent some time with Joe and Jenny Boot this weekend. They used to be members of OCC, when Joe was based in Oxford as an itinerant apologist the Zacharias Trust - and became really good friends.
So, we're really proud of what they're now doing, and I want to let people know! They are now leading a church called 'Westminster Chapel' in downtown Toronto (www.westminsterchapel.ca). They started in September 2008, and already have a thriving congregation, an outreach to prostitutes, a developing student ministry and a staff team of 6! They connected with a congregation that had dwindled to about a dozen members, but had charge of a 700 seater building, who had been praying for years for new leaders to come and for a new season of church life to commence. So often the most exciting developments occur, not through our careful planning, but by God joining people together to form extraordinary teams capable of doing extraordinary things.
