Mission from Oxford Community Church
Jesus said, 'Go and make disciples of all nations'. (Matthew 28:19)
Every follower of Jesus is called, not only to invite people to come to Jesus, but actively to go out to people. For many, this is achieved in the place where they already live - but others respond to this call by going to other nations. Some go to places of great material poverty, showing God's love by sharing Europe's material resources with those in need. Others go to places where there is a great lack of gospel ministry, with the primary goal of planting new churches in those nations. Indeed, most missionaries find themselves engaged in both evangelism and social action - since both are part of extending the kingdom. |
In Oxford Community Church, we want to inspire people to 'go and make disciples', particularly in places where there is as yet no Christian church. To this end, we help to train people who are thinking of going abroad, and to help them to clarify just what their vocation is. We then send them with our blessing, and offer ongoing support, through a mixture of prayer, finance, pastoral care and strategic input (as appropriate).
