Welcome to the OCC:STUDENTS website

Firstly, if you're a fresher, welcome to Oxford! We hope your first few weeks here are thoroughly enjoyable and that you soon feel at home in your new city. Starting university is a time of great transition and activity but we hope that you’ll find the time to find the church that God wants you to be a part of in Oxford.

After arriving as freshers in 2004, we have found a home at OCC. A home with a caring family, freedom in worship, inspiring and challenging Bible teaching, a missional focus and, perhaps most  significant, Fusion groups of students who have become close friends and spiritual brothers and sisters as we’ve gone through ups and downs together.

We’re really excited about what God has in store for the students at OCC in the coming year. Recently He’s spoken prophetically about wanting to pour out the ‘new wine’ of the Holy Spirit afresh in us in order for us to be effective at sharing Jesus’ life with those around us. This is our vision: to share the new life that Jesus offers us with each other and with those outside the church. We’d love to share new life with you!

One of the key ways that we share life is through fusion groups are all about getting Jesus into our universities. We don't want to retreat from uni into church meetings, but to take our wonderful, prayerful, transforming, truth-speaking Christian community and plant it right in the middle of uni life! We're going to start gathering as fusion groups from the middle of November because we're beginning this year with a series of special meetings called Immerse for all our students, which will have a focus on the life of the Holy Spirit.

There isn’t a better way to see what we’re about than to get along to a fusion group or to come along on Sunday. Our Sunday meetings help us to encounter and to know God, so that we are strengthened in living for him throughout the week. On Sundays, our meetings start at 10:30am and you’ll find us here. If you'd like to find out more details about anything we do, or would like to walk down to church with someone, please e-mail us. The meeting usually finishes by 12:30pm and we often have lunch afterwards.
