Our History
Stepping Stones was established in 1992 as a pre-school. Originally based in Bampton, it was the first pre-school opened by Oxfordshire Community Churches.
Oxfordshire Community Churches has a long history of involvement in education. The King’s School, Witney, was opened in 1984 providing education for children aged 5 to 16 years. Since then, Stepping Stones and two further pre-schools, in Bicester and Didcot, have been developed.
In 2005 Stepping Stones moved to its current home in Witney, providing better facilities and a greater link with The King’s School. It has continued to grow, adding afternoon sessions from January 2009.
Our reputation for an excellent quality of provision and care means that children attend not only from Witney, but also from around the county.
