It can be a bit different being a postgraduate, or an international student! Terms mean less and you face different issues from your average undergraduate. OCC is a church with a vision to be a multi-cultural, multi-generational community, and we welcome both postgraduate and international students, with Fusion groups that cater specifically for their needs. We want to help students find a spiritual home, where they can find support for their studies as well as growing together in Christ.
The postgraduate and international communties also form vast mission fields in Oxford's universities. We hope to work together to start to reach some of those people for God's Kingdom. If you would like to be part of this, or would just like to meet some other graduates, get in touch: josiew@occ.org.uk.

Rachel's story |

Life as a grad student can be a lonely, self-absorbed one. It is all too easy to think that your research is all that matters and to shut out everything else in the process. It doesn't have to be that way, though! Coming to Oxford as an international student, I found that being a part of Oxford Community Church allowed me to find a welcoming family that wasn't comprised solely of people in their twenties. At the same time, being part of the graduate Fusion group connected me with a supportive group of people who understand the challenges of postgrad life, but who are still determined to be outward-looking and focused on bringing Jesus' love and life-changing power to those in our departments and faculties.
