We recognise this is an aspect of school life which can cause concern to prospective parents. We have students who travel from Abingdon, Appleton, Aston, Blackbird Leys, Bicester, Botley, Carterton, Charlbury, Chipping Norton, Didcot, Oxford, Freeland, Leafield, Marston, Milton-under-Wychwood, Minster Lovell, North Leigh, Radley, Shipton-under-Wychwood, Standlake, Upper Heyford, Wantage, Witney and Yarnton. So, whilst in some cases distance is a challenge, it is not usually insurmountable.
A number of parents collaborate to come up with creative solutions. At the time of writing, parent-run minibuses operate from Wantage/Stanford in the Vale and Bicester and there are a number of car sharing arrangements in place (please enquire for details).
[The King’s School is committed to promoting responsible use of the earth’s resources and respect for the environment. It encourages car sharing, cycling and walking wherever possible and is currently working towards a green transport strategy.]
