Some end of year trips

Some of our year groups have some end of year trips lined up. The Y5s recently went to 'Explore' at Bristol, a 'hands on' science museum, accompanied by Mrs Thomas, the Y5 teacher, Miss Carter and Mr Thomas, senior pastor of OCC and driver of the bus!  From what they have said, they all really enjoyed the day. Below are some quotes from the class and some photos.

"I loved going to the museum. It was amazing. The planetarium was amazing. It was the best trip so far."

"It was all great. It had lots of different things and it was hard to choose what to do."

"I really enjoyed the hamster wheel."

"I liked the leaning lounge the best." (please note, it was a leaning lounge and not a learning lounge!)

Our YR class joined together with Stepping Stones Pre-School and had a fun filled visit to Farmer Gow's activity farm. Mrs Brooks, the YR teacher gave us this report.

"God was good and despite torrential rain on the way there, when we arrived, the weather was perfect. This meant we were able to enjoy climbing hay stacks, riding tractors and feeding pigs, goats, sheep and lambs. The earlier rain also meant that the children could splash in a very deep puddle!"

Meanwhile, our Y6s went to the Oceanarium at Bournemouth, managing to fit time in to go in the sea and enjoy some icecreams. Judging from the comments below, it sounds as if they had a great day.

"We loved the sea and Bournemouth is great."

"I liked seeing and learning about the different sea creatures."

"We should do it again... it was great fun... perhaps we can open a school in Bournemouth!"

The final three quotes may make you smile - or grimace if you think it was your child who said it.....

"It was fun... until I went in the sea and then realised that my phone was in my pocket!"

"It was fun... until I realised I had left my flipflops behind!"

"It was great... until my icecream fell off the cone!"

Finally,  our Y5s have been learning about the Tudors in history and managed to fit in one trip to end their study on a high note. We were given this report.

"Our trip to Sulgrave Manor in Banbury gave us an excellent day. The children enjoyed wearing tudor clothes and hearing about how Tudor life differed to our own (Windsor) life.
