During the last week of term, the pupils from Y7 to Y10 took time out of normal lessons to have a relook at the story of the prodigal son. Given the title "The God of the Second Chance" the pupils were given the opportunity to explore this using a variety of ways. Some chose music, dance or drama whilst others spent time being creative with craft, art and computer graphics. The result was two nights of thought provoking entertainment. The pupils 'on the stage' were supported brilliantly by their peers who manned the lights and sound, produced some fantastic art work not only used as a backdrop to the show but to greet visitors as they arrived in the school and provided refreshments and snacks in the interval. Here are some of the quotes from those watching.
"I thoroughly enjoyed the evening. To mention a few highlights, the Prodigal Son drama presented a number of perceptive angles on a well known story that were very thought-provoking, the gospel choir gave another quality performance, and it was great to see so many children finding a way to express their faith creatively."
"I was amazed at how much the pupils manged to sort out and organise in the time they had and how much they had to remember. I was really impressed."
"Like last year, I just loved seeing all the pupils work together, across the year groups. They all seemed to really encourage and support each other and have fun as well. A lot of thought and care had gone into what they produced and it was great to see different pupils to last year having a go at music and drama especially."
