Y7 recently enjoyed two trips together. The first of these was a trip to Warick Castle. Climbing the walls and tower proved a challenge for those who did not have a head for heights but the views of the surrounding area made the climb worthwhile. It also helped give them an idea of the sheer size of the castle, its deep defensive moats and numerous towers. The highlight of the visit was watching the largest trebuchet in Europe in action, lobbing a 25kg rock 300 metres! They also enjoyed the Kingmaker Exhibit and seeing all the birds of pray. As Chris, one of the group, later wrote, "We have been learning about medieval life this year and this trip brought it alive for us."
They also enjoyed a morning with Adventure Plus and Rowan and Sunny gave us this report.
"Year 7 went to Adventure Plus on the 12th July. First we went on an orienteering hike in Minster Lovell, through fields and forests, trying to find speial landmarks. Though it was good, as we were split into two teams, some of us wanted it to be a bit more competitive! We enjoyed playing at the ruins at the end, especially as there were lots of lovely views. When we had finished, we went back to school for a lovely barbecue."
