In 2009, The King's School Year 11s achieved outstanding grades in their GCSEs with 100% of the pupils getting 6 GCSEs with A*-C grades and 52% of the grades being A*/A .We want to commend both our pupils and our staff for all their hard work and of course, give thanks to God for his faithfulness and guidance to us as a school as a whole.
We have been consistently encouraged over the years by GCSE results that are of a very high standard for a school that is not academically selective. According to figures in The Oxford Times, the county average for 5 GCSEs with A* to C grades for 2009 was 68.7%. The King’s School has also consistently gained GCSE results that place it in the top three non-selective schools (state or independent) in the county and since 2000, between 80 and 94% of students taking exams gain five or more GCSEs at grade C or higher (regional average of 55-65%).
