Prayers and God's answers at The King's School
The history of The King’s School is a history of prayers answered by God. Building on the past and pioneering for the future, on 31st January we gathered together pupils, parents and teachers to call down God’s blessing in a number of different areas. Excitingly we’ve already seen a number of answers to prayer.
We were praying for:
• Breakthrough in receiving more pupils, especially at the Primary school, so that more children are able to discover and be equipped for the wonderful plans that God has for their lives. • Breakthrough in the provision of a new building for the Senior School. • Breakthrough in seeing God’s provision for the school that allows it to grow and better serve its pupils and the community. |

Within a week we received a gift of £14,400 + gift aid! |

With lots of creative prayer, from writing prayers on paper slips and forming a chain that gets longer throughout the day, to writing prayers on bricks symbolising the new building, to prayer walking, we sought God together. |
Here are some of the prayers:
“I pray that at the moment we would make use of what we’ve got, and that you would strengthen our faith and keep us patient. Thank you for all you’ve done. This school has done a lot for me and I want to see it affect other people as well.”
“Dear Lord, please can you provide a new building for the senior site? Please can you do it like you did with the primary site. In your name, please can you provide a new site. And please can you come in your Holy Spirit.”
“Lord Jesus, I pray that you will bring more and more pupils into the school – from Christian and non-Christian backgrounds, and I pray that whoever does come into our school, you would really bless them and fill them with your Holy Spirit.”
FOTKS Christmas Fayre Success
We would like to extending a huge thank you to everyone for helping make the school’s first Christmas Fayre such a success. We were able to raise over £1,200, 90% of which goes into our minibus fund. The remaining 10% goes to our designated charity, which was Helping Hands (www.helpinghands-uk.org) and the money raised by Helping Hands through the stall and our gift will fund their nurse in Uganda for three months. We established The Friends of The King’s School with the dual purpose of raising funds and raising the profile of the school in the local community. We also received excellent feedback from many of the visiting stall holders who commented on the wonderful atmosphere in our school.

Senior school pupil Chris Brooks met author Jonathan Stroud on Monday 23rd October. He met him in London and they drove all round London in a limo, visiting various places that appear in his books.
Chris won this opportunity through a Newsround competition. There is now a report of his day on the Newsround website.
He is what the Newsround crew call a "Press Packer". They are people that have won Newsround competitions or sent in a video of themselves doing something. They are either shown on TV or published on the website. Congratulations Chris! |

Designing a Birthday card fit for the Queen
Year 4 pupil William Briggs won a competition to design a birthday card for the Queen. Becky Brooks (a King's School Primary pupil) asked him a few questions, and here are the answers.
Q) What design did you do?
A) I did a fishy design; like an underwater design. It didn't have any writing on the front.
Q) How did you feel when you were told that you had won?
A) Well I got it through the post at school and I felt quite excited!
Q) What was the prize?
A) I got a five pound coin, an invitation to Guild Hall where I met the Mayor of Windsor and a Horrible History book.
Q) Why do you think you won?
A) I don't really know, but I guess it is because I took a long time on the card.
Q) In one word, sum up the experience you had.
A) It was a happy time.
He had a brilliant time there. He was very lucky to win, because loads of people entered. So congratulations to William!
