Our Vision OCC has been pioneering in the field of Christian education since 1984, when we started The King's School in Witney, the first purpose-built school of its kind in the UK. The school is now well-established, operating both Primary and Senior sites, with excellent academic results. Stepping Stones acts as a feeder to The King's School (catering from infant to GCSE), but also welcomes children who may go on to other schools. OCC is also seeking to develop other pre-schools around Oxfordshire. Our vision is for young people to know their God and to be trained to serve and influence their generation by Godly attitudes and actions. Fundamental to the school's philosophy and practice is the biblical principle that education is primarily the responsibility of the parents, rather than the State. Our role as a school is to work alongside parents, serving them by providing the structure and specialist knowledge to assist them in fulfilling this task, whilst holding in trust that measure of responsibility they have delegated to us. We are aware that the most powerful influence in the school upon the lives of the students is the life of the teacher. All of our full-time staff are committed Christians who share our vision to bring up young people to know God in a personal way and to serve and influence their generation with their lives. By God's grace we intend to be the best possible influence upon them. We want to encourage them in learning and developing Godly character whilst bringing discipline, when needed, with understanding and love. However, we rely on the active involvement of parents in the whole education process.
