The Glory of the LORD

Nature's Arch

Every valley shall be raised up,
    every mountain and hill made low;
the rough ground shall become level,
    the rugged places a plain.
5 And the glory of the Lord will be revealed,

As we drove home on Sunday the sunset was a brilliant golden light shot through with turquoise and pink - it was a breath-taking sight. As I walked through the wet leaves and the rain today it was exhilarating feeling the power of the wind. The awesomeness of God revealed in the beauty and majesty of his creation. The website at national geographic has these amazing pictures of the beauty of this world, and in the quietness of our prayer meeting - the glory of the Lord was revealed.

We live in a world of beauty yet I'm provoked about the dark places - the dark places in wantage, the dark places in my heart. He wants to come and chase out the dark and replace it with his kingdom, his people, his love.

This season of prayer has been good - God has been present and one day during the week of prayer, when prayer was utmost in my mind, I remember thinking - every day shoud be like this -in constant communion with God. That God chooses to speak with us, to tell us things, to answer our prayers - is a mystery. Yet he does and he calls us to choose Him, to choose life, to choose joy.

 God has the power to flatten every obstacle in our way, he has the power to lift us up to heaven.In turn we need to set God up high, lay our stalls out if you like, that people can see that God loves them but more than that, so that God can be glorified. Weak and feeble though our efforts are compared to him, somehow he takes pleasure in our act of worship and he is glorious.
