at Stockham School

Heenan small group on set-up

New Church Building

Please keep praying for the King’s Grove development, pray for our team to have God’s wisdom in their conversations and input. A base for sending and a home for mission. Lord build your church in Wantage and area.

Missionary Support

Dave and Susie Bickford, one of the missionary couples we support as a church, will be returning to the U.K. for good with their adopted son, Luke, at the end of June 2019. They are coming back after 24 years of serving in China. As a practical way of helping their transition period it seems good to provide them with a car for when they first return. If you would like to be a part of this demonstration of support for them, there will be a special collection in church on this Sunday 16th June, or you can give a donation via the church treasurer (Rosie Hayden). This can be cash, or a cheque made payable to the church and identified for the Bickford’s car. Hopefully we can provide them with a recently serviced car, a full tank of fuel and pay the vehicle tax for them for the first year.

Small Groups

As a church we seek a small group cycle that both engenders family and relationship but also releases us to try new things. Each year we review the current small groups and see if there are groups that could be added to the mix. This could be a daytime group, an Alpha course, new Christians, Freedom in Christ, craft, specific outreach focused or any number of other things. If you feel God is talking to you about leading a new small group or would like to explore more what it might involve, please talk to Andy & Liz Bruce.

Children and Youth workers

We need a helper to work alongside the teachers of our eldest children’s group 8-11-year olds and a teacher for our 5-7-year olds. Please pray into this and if you think it might be something you could do please talk to Eileen. We need you for September!

We need 2 youth workers to help with our youth on a Sunday morning – you will be supporting Dan, Andrew, Liz and Sarah – so you won’t be on your own!! Please talk to Dan if you feel this is something God is calling you to.

Summer Volunteers

Over the summer we like to give our Sunday school teachers a well-earned rest from Sunday school so they can charge their batteries for September! So, we need volunteers please to look after the children on summer Sundays. We can provide you with resources and ideas or you are welcome to plan your own fun activity. Please do talk to D, Eileen or Andy if this is something you would like to do.

Also, could all parents please let Eileen and Andy know when you are on holiday or not around – we won’t hold you to this information, but it really helps if we have an idea of numbers during the summer.

It’s that time of year again! Please do remember our young people as they revise and sit their exams. Pray for God to encourage them and inspire them, that they would know the Holy Spirit with them in the exam room, that they would have confidence in their God-given abilities and that they would know

peace and not stress.
