Also, it’s the children’s Christmas party – they will be going out after the first song. Creche children need to be with a parent.

 

New Church Building

Please be praying for the King’s Grove development as it enters a critical stage in the decision as to who is involved in managing the building. Pray for our team to have God’s wisdom in their conversations and input. A base for sending and a home for mission. Lord build your church in Wantage and area.

 

Alpha Course

We are running an Alpha course during the sermon on Sundays. Alpha is a series of interactive sessions that freely explore the basics of the Christian faith. Please pray for those on the course and those running the course – if you would like to provide cakes for this group one week please see Tyrone or Kristal.

7.30-9pm Cornerstone Cafe, Grove typically the second Sunday of each month next one 13th January. A time of un-hurried worship and prayer and an opportunity to encounter God and make space for God to speak

 

Sunday Socials

These are held on the first Sunday of each month at Annie and Howard’s they start after Church with a ‘bring and share’ lunch, followed by a walk, or a film or something else (depending on the weather and what everyone would like to do).  Everyone is welcome, come for just the lunch or go home for lunch and join us later as you prefer. Next one is 6th January.

 

School’s Prayer Group

This group meets three times a year for this next academic year the dates are:-

CAROL SINGING

A carol singing event to raise funds for Wantage & Grove Street Pastors.

This is open to anyone from the churches to join us singing carols in the pubs around Wantage on Saturday 15 Dec from 8.30 pm - meet outside Wantage Baptist Church.

Children’s Kid’s praise and party this Sunday: 16th Dec. All children are invited, they are welcome to dress up as a character from the nativity if they would like. Creche aged children are welcome to join in with the party or the library space will be available with toys as normal. Parents will be asked to stay with their creche aged children. Please come, talk to Kristal if you have any questions.

Regional CelebrationDidcot 27th January

 

That Youth Thing– Youth Retreat at Youlbury Scout Centre, Boars Hill Oxford 15th -17th Feb 2019 for Y7 -Y13. £65 before Jan 1st then £70.

 

This is a chance for our young people to make space in their diaries at the start of half term to (re)connect with God, re-connect with old friends & make new ones, to have fun together!  Talk to D if you have any questions – having time away really makes the difference for our young people and enables those life-changing God encounters that make such a difference to their lives!

 

 Engage 2019’a conference for Christians working in health and social care, which is being organised after overwhelmingly positive feedback at a similar event in February 2018. The event will be on Saturday 2nd March 2019 at The King’s Centre in Oxford.

 

The theme will be ‘Contagious Hope’ and there is a line-up of Christian professionals speaking, who will cover subjects including:

·       Going to work with the Living God

·       Personal Resilience

·       Innovations in church-based health and social care

·       Prayer for healing

·       Handling Failure

·       A Christian response to ‘assisted dying’

The Gathering

Supernatural Advance

Camping is back! This is the first summer camp our sphere (the group of churches we are relating to in salt and light) is running. Even if you are not a great fan of camping -this event promises to be a great time of fellowship, faith and fun!! The goal is for everyone to encounter the presence of God - there are activities for children and adults. (And there are noncamping options available!!)

We will be gathering for vibrant, spirit-led worship! There will be times to worship as a whole church family together as well as worship in each group.

We have an excellent range of groups for children and youth, catering for everyone between 0–18 years, with worship, games and teaching tailored to each group.

Fun

There will be loads of opportunity to spend time with people. We will also have recreation activities each afternoon.

China Trip 2019!!

Liz and Oliver are planning another trip to China April 8-21st April (provisionally) if you are interested please do talk to them by 31st October. Also, please do pray: Luke has struggled to settle back into China since their return in September and Susie has had a minor stroke - please pray for healing, peace and grace on the whole family.

 

FOODBANK is in need of more support on the committee (one meetng every 2 months) and with the general running and organisation of foodbank – please talk to D or Rosie Horswell if you’d like to know more.
