Engage 2018: Health and Social Care

24th Feb 9.3 0- 16.30Kings Centre Oxford

Many Christians work in health and social care with a strong sense of calling, yet still asking:

· Can all the work ever be done, especially given diminishing resources?

· Can I see the kingdom of God coming through my work?

· Can Christians collaborate to bring about a culture change?

Engage 2018 says ‘Yes, nothing is impossible with God,’ and will be a day to encourage you. There will be inspiring talks from leaders in this sector, as well as stories of believers making a real difference. There will be time for networking, for practical workshops and for prayer.

Confirmed speakers include:

· Dr Andrew Murray: Chair of Merton Clinical Commissioning Group

· Sir Andrew Dilnot: Expert in the funding of social care

· Dr Katie Hilder MRCS: Leader of the Global Legacy Healthcare Network

Workshops are planned to cover: personal resilience, working overseas, healing prayer and effecting big picture change.

Steve Beegoo, Principal – ‘The King’s School, Witney is an independent, non-selective, co-educational Christian school in Oxfordshire, where staff and parents work together to help students discover God’s purpose for their lives.  As a school, our vision is to partner with parents in supporting you in helping your children to know God and be well prepared for His future for them.

As such, we view the school as an extension of family, where we are seeking to not only give an excellent education, but to disciple each child along with you, into the plan God has for their lives.  What a privilege we share in this! Our school is a place of adventure and exploration, of fresh challenges and exciting opportunities, where your child can discover their worth, grow in character, develop academically and be encouraged to achieve their potential.’

Worship and Prayer Times

Our week of prayer was a lovely time of encountering God, making space for Him to speak and trying to listen! D found this quote which sums it up: “We look upon prayer as a means of getting things for ourselves, the Bible’s idea of prayer is that we get to know God Himself” Oswald Chambers.
