As I said on Sunday, my arm took a bit of a knock a few days ago. As the pain wasn't getting better I took myself off the Abingdon Minor Injuries yesterday where they informed me that I had a minor fracture in a bone in my elbow. For those who like details, it is called a "cheese slice". As it happened in France, this seems very appropriate!

I will get final confirmation today, but the doctors are telling me to keep living more or less normally, perhaps a bit more slowly, to rest my arm more and to take lots of pain killers - I don't need a cast or an operation. In essence, there's not a lot that can be done to help the amazing creation that is the human body sorting itself out.

Although this news is frustrating, I was struck at the timing of it: preaching on healing with a broken elbow. I think I face a choice: will I choose to dismiss what the bible teaches on healing and spiritual breakthrough because I have this injury or will I choose to believe the bible and entrust what I'm living to the Sovereignty of God and the fact we still need to see more breakthrough in healing and salvation? I choose to choose to believe the bible.

I am also deeply grateful to all who have prayed so far, not least Matt when it first happened and Jackie and Dave on Sunday morning. I dread to think how much worse it would be had it not been for all the intercession so far.
