Community Activities

The Alpha Course consists of a 10 week series of live talks or DVDs looking at various topics exploring Christianity. We start each evening at 7.30pm with a meal together followed by a short talk or DVD. After the talk we discuss the topic of the evening, ask questions and express opinions, finishing around 9.30pm. There is no charge for Alpha but a donation towards the cost of the meal (around £2) would be great!

Journeys is a 5 week course (5 evenings) looking at the Christian Faith through the lives of people who have experienced its power and influence over their lives. Watch a DVD, then have your say in a relaxed and easy-going setting. Refreshments are provied and its free of charge. That can't be bad!

Marriage Course, Marriage Preparation Course and parenting course

The Marriage Course is a series of 7 sessions designed to help any married couple strengthen their relationship. It is a great opportunity to spend time together as a couple looking at the important issues in your marriage. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been married for less than two years or more than thirty.

The Marriage Preparation Course is a series of 5 sessions for any engaged couple who want to develop strong foundations for a lasting marriage. It doesn't matter how long you have been engaged - some couples have set a wedding date, while others have not. We also find couples who have been living together for a while use the course to explore the idea of getting married.

Easy going, fun and confidential. In both courses the sessions are informal and relaxed; refreshments (or sometimes a meal) followed by short talks interspersed with exercises and questions for you to discuss together as a couple. A basic charge is made to cover the costs. And don't panic - there's strictly no group work!

If you would like details about forthcoming courses for any of the above, we would love to hear from you: Neil Townsend 01235 771152 or email:

Celebrate Recovery/Life Hurts God Heals

These are courses we are running and have run in the past and are suitable for those struggling with life-controlling issues like depression, eating disorders and other addictions.

Wantage Toddlers meets from 9.15am to 11.15am on Fridays, term time only in the Methodist Church Hall. We are a large friendly group and also organise social events for the adults from time to time, such as the very popular "pudding parties"!

We offer a large variety of toys and also a craft activity each week. At the end of each morning we clear the toys away for 15 mins of action songs and rhymes.

If you are a parent or carer with children aged 0 - 4 years we would love to welcome you to our group.
