Exploring Faith?

We all find ourselves asking big questions at some point. What’s the purpose of my life? Why is there so much suffering in the world? Is there a God, and if so what might he be like?

The Bible tells a story that claims to make sense of this world, and speaks to our deepest longings and questions. It tells of a God who loves us and has a plan for our lives. We were created to find ultimate fulfilment in relationship with him.

If you’re exploring questions about faith, we’d love to help you. Here are some suggestions of next steps you could take.

Join us on a Sunday

One of the best ways to explore the Christian faith is to experience it firsthand. Our Sunday services are a great place for us all to learn and grow together in community. Wherever you are on your journey of faith, you’re very welcome!

We know attending church can be a daunting experience, especially if it’s unfamiliar to you. So here’s a little of what you can expect.

Worship

Our services always include a time of worship, where we sing songs to God, share about the difference he makes in our lives, and pray together. People express themselves differently in worship, but there’s no pressure to take part. You’re totally welcome to join in or just observe – whatever you’re most comfortable with.

We believe that God is a relational being, who loves to meet with us. When we reach out to him, he responds and many people experience his presence in times of worship, in a way that leaves them feeling strengthened, encouraged, and loved.

Sermon

Each week we hear a talk from the Bible, applying ancient wisdom to modern life. These talks unpack themes from the Scriptures that help us live the life for which we were created.

If you’re not familiar with the Bible, some of the content may be new or unusual. But the speakers will always seek to explain it in a way that makes sense, and help us apply the message wherever we are on our journey of faith. And if you’ve got questions, you’re always welcome to speak to the preacher at the end of the service.

Prayer

At the end of every service we have a team available, offering prayer for anyone who would like it. Maybe you’ve never prayed before and would love someone to pray on your behalf? Or perhaps you might want someone to pray with you to experience God’s help in your life? The team would love to pray with you!

Alpha Course

Alpha is a series of group conversations exploring the basics of the Christian faith in an open, friendly environment.

Each week we enjoy a meal together, then watch a short video about an aspect of the Christian faith, after which we have a conversation, sharing our thoughts and opinions.

Everyone’s welcome. Whatever your background or beliefs, you’re invited!

Our current Alpha course runs on Wednesday evenings at The King’s Centre, OX2 0ES, and it is still possible to join us.
