Meet the team

At Oxford Community Church we’re blessed with a wide range of leaders, both staff members and volunteers. We hope you enjoy getting to know them!

Steve and Bev Jones

Steve has been the Senior Pastor of Oxford Community Church since 2005, and under his leadership OCC has developed education and housing ministries, as well as leadership training, citywide collaboration and global mission.

He spent some years leading a regional church network, and is now widely appreciated as a mentor to leaders in the church and in different spheres of public life. He is also the founder of Renew Oxford, an initiative to unite churches to respond to the most pressing social challenges in our city.

Beverley is also a Senior Pastor in the church, with particular responsibility for overseeing the team who lead our 0-18s. In addition, she is an artist and member of the Oxford Art Society, specialising in oils, watercolours, and inks.

She also teaches Art at The King’s School Witney, and mentors other artists who are seeking to use their creativity as an expression of their Christian faith.

Together Steve and Bev lead the team at Oxford Community Church, and are parents of three daughters.

Strategic Leadership Team

This team is responsible for translating the church’s vision into strategic action, acting as the primary executive decision-making group.

Oversight Team

This team, comprised of elders and other key leaders, provides vision and spiritual covering for the church, and members serve in various areas of church life.

Leadership and Governance

The church is led by an Oversight Team comprised of elders and other key leaders. This team gives spiritual covering and vision for the church. Our Strategic Leadership Team is responsible for translating the church’s vision into strategic action, and the Core Team creates operational plans for all areas of church life.

Our Staff Team is responsible for much of the day to day running of church life, along with many volunteer leaders. Our finance and compliance is overseen by a Governance Team, who report to the Oxfordshire Community Churches Trustees.
